My History
Born in Jackson, MS and raised in Jackson, WY, I was a more active athlete than active student in high school. Playing baseball and football, competing in big mountain free skiing, as well as skateboarding and acting; I prioritized activities where I believed I could challenge myself over academics which came rather easily. After a series of knee injuries (ACL tears) I bucked down and focused on performing well in my Advanced Placement classes which allowed me to enter the Electrical Engineering program and Montana State University.
Moving up to Bozeman, Montana I quickly found a great group individuals who were interested in engineering and skiing. I began to grow into my role as a student and an athlete as I pursued my dive master certification in Thailand my sophomore summer. The following semester I joined Dr. Bradley Whitakers research group studying machine learning in sparse datasets, where we are hoping to publish our first paper.
Following the success of the research team, I began applying for work in the second semester of my junior year allowing me to sign with Raytheon, a top defense contracting firm during the first semester of my senior year.
College was an experience laden with failures and successes, and I found the healthiest mentality is to keep moving forward. I hope to continue to be grateful for my successes while staying unsatisfied with my capabilities.
